"T" has drawn a hydra snake for his half note music art. Their tongue is like a taser as it paralizes. I hope it doesn't get near my piano in Cindy's Piano Studio or me!

 

"C"s First Music Art for Cindy's Piano Studio

"C" has created her first piece of music art for Cindy's Piano Studio. Can you find the quarter note? Hint: the stem is the main trunk of the Christmas tree! "C" is ready for Christmas decorating! She has a great start on it.

 

Cindy's Piano Studio Welcomes "C" to Piano Lessons in Clinton, MO

"C" joined Cindy's Piano Studio in Clinton, MO on October 4, 2023. She also plays clarinet. She says that she has always liked piano and finds it to be an interesting instrument. Her favorite subject in school is science and her hobbies are cooking, baking, and singing Taylor Swift songs. Maybe soon she will be able to accompany herself while she plays. "C"s First Recording

 

"C" recorded her first piano piece, "My Dog, Spike/Sorry, Spike" at her last lesson. She is having soooo much fun. I can't wait to hear her next recording. Great job, "C"!

Two Students of Cindy's Piano Studio are Recorded

Congratulations to James Pirrello and Sarah Quadt on making their first End-of-Book CD.

This was my first test with making CDs instead of doing an actual End-of-Book recital for students when they finish a method book.  We video taped as well as had a live audience.  I'm still learning how to do this the best way; however, we've done it!  We had two other students finish their books but couldn't get the software to work right.  So congratulations to Harper Dawes and Liz Quadt also!

I'm looking forward to seeing who will finish their books next.

I love working with technology and am always learning how to make Cindy's Piano Studio more relevant to today's students.  Stay tuned...

BEMUS POINT - Students of Cindy's Piano Studio, Bemus Point and Lakewood locations, recently held a recital at Bemus Point United Methodist Church to benefit St. Susan's Center.
Students played their favorite Christmas carols for family and friends. The program started with a duet by Brianna Lopez, piano teacher, and Cindy Robison, piano teacher/owner. There were many solo piano pieces played as well as duets. One parent played guitar while her son played piano; and another performance featured a friend of a student joining in to sing, accompanied by the piano student. The program closed with another duet by Lopez and Robison.
Participating students were: Lizzy Quadt, Morgan Tarbrake, Eliza Dawes, Sabrina Hallberg, Makala Nelsen, Andrew Scarem and his mother, Candy Scarem, Stuart Rinehart, Gloria Marsh, Lillian Marsh, Sarah Quadt, Aaron Jung, Harper Dawes, Carling Lockwood, Coco Seagren, Allison Bohall, Oliver Rinehart, Lily Gustafson, Hannah Tarbrake, Courtney Jung and singer Madigan Howard, Ava Crist and Dominique Delcalzo.

Pictured are students at Cindy’s Piano Studio, whose combined recital helped raise money for the St. Susan Center.

Mrs. Robison gave a short talk regarding St. Susan Center and the need for donations this year. It costs $2.50 to provide one meal for each person who comes into the center. In 2011 they served an average of 235 meals a day. Cindy's Piano Studio helped to feed 50 of those people for one day. St. Susan Center is not subsidized by federal or state agencies. For more information on the center, call 664-2253.

Piano Dust

Does the inside of your piano look like this?!  Mine did until my technician came dusted it when he was resurfacing the hammers.  The hammers are on the bottom in the picture; you can see where it hits the strings and has made deep indentations into the felt of the hammers. 

Here he is removing a hammer so he can fix it.  He had to use a special type of screwdriver to catch the screw so it wouldn't fall into the piano and be lost.

He then shaved all the hammers to make the piano sound better and so that the hammers didn't stick into the strings.

Here you can see the tool he used to shave the hammers.  It looks like a big metal file.  Don't use it on your fingernails though or you won't have any left!

He did a great job and now the piano is ready to go into some blessed piano students home.  It is for sale for $600.

Mozart Piano Co. Upright Piano

My piano in the Bemus Point studio has been fixed.  The technician came and revoiced all the hammers so now it sounds nice.  The piano is by Mozart Piano Co. out of Toronto.  They don't exist anymore.  In fact this piano is dated in the 1920's.  It still has the original ivory keys.  I had to reglue one of them but it's still the original. Now I'm thinking about selling it for $600.  It was very heavy to move and required four guys.  It would make a nice piano for a student who is really interested in piano lessons.
