"C" Half Rest Art Story

"C" has another story for you today. There once was a girl who made a snowman. The snowman was alive! Oh but he was so very cold.

So the girl gave him her scarf which made him too hot. (Obviously, being too hot is not good for a snowman. As you probably know, he will melt!)

So the snowman took off the scarf but he got cold again so he put the scarf back on again. Then he saw an ice cream place and they went to eat some.

That made him cold again. So he took the scarf off again and went into a pool where he melted!

Oh yeah, the half rest is the snowman's hat!

"H" played Men From Mars today. She is learning where the white keys are so you'll hear her saying her letter names.

Clinton, MO has some pretty creative students taking piano lessons at Cindy's Piano Studio!

"C" has drawn a whole note picture for you today. She composed a story to go with it. Here it is:

A gingerbread man was building a gingerbread house when a witch came along. She had also built a gingerbread house. She ate some of the gingerbread man's house! The gingerbread man saw her; so he wanted to go and eat some of the witch's house. He ate some but the witch had put magic candy in it. The gingerbread man got eaten by a kid who also ate the witch's house AND the witch.

Hmmm.....I wonder who the kid was?

"A" First Video

About two weeks ago "A" asked me if she could learn to play Happy Birthday for her brother. She only had taken six or so piano lessons and I wasn't too confident that this would happen. However I was willing to give her a go at it. I gave her Happy Birthday with finger numbers only and showed her where to put her hands. It's amazing what someone can do when they are motivated! She did well don't you think?

"H" Demonstrates Her Donut Holes

 All Cindy's Piano Studio students learn the technique of playing piano through fun activities. "H" is demonstrating how to do donut holes to firm up the first knuckles. She has her own way of doing them as eyeglasses!

"ARC" has created not just a whole note music art piece but a story line as well. "ARC" is playing catch with a football in the backyard between two oak trees. Pretty creative!

I think "A" likes playing with words! And jokes too! I know she likes taking piano lessons and I enjoy teaching her. That is not a spelling error...treble has been changed for her music art as a joke to triple. Get it?! Funny "A"!

"G"s Half Rest Art is Amazing!

Amazing! On stage you'll see people wearing hats, a worm half rest hat, a half rest hat rack with someone putting a half rest hat on the rack. Above the stage are half rest dream clouds as well as half rests flying to the moon where one is on the moon! I think we have a very creative story teller learning piano this year. Is one of several. I'm so blessed to be allowed to teach piano to them.

"H" was really creative with her whole note music art. Do you see the sun and the moon? The moon has a lot of whole note craters in it!

 

"G"'s next music art is half note art. There are people half notes and a sun half note. Do you see them? Great job, "G"!

 Merrily We Roll Along. You can hear him saying his finger numbers as we play. It can be a challenge to talk and play and listen to the teacher's duet; however, he did it very well!

She Beat Me to the Keys!

 "G" and I had a race to the keys at her last lesson. Her mom called out the letters and I was standing farther away from the piano to be fair. Well, "G" beat me to all the letters her mom called out! Next time I'll stand closer! 😁

Cindy's Piano Studio Welcomes "H"! She wasn't too sure she wanted to take piano lessons at first but now she loves it and is practicing! She like 4H and horseback riding. Her favorite subject in school in math. She will be doing very well in both piano and math this year!

Welcome to Cindy's Piano Studio "A"! When asked why he wanted to take piano lessons, he said because he likes the sound of the piano.  Me to "A"! Especially when it's played by who excel at listening. He also said he wants to play songs he knows. "A" likes to play soccer and basketball and enjoys learning math. We are going to have a fun year with "A"!

Cindy's Piano Studio welcomes "T"!

This has been a busy month, October, for Cindy's Piano Studio. I've welcomed six more students to the joy of learning music at the piano. 

Today I'm focusing on "T". When I asked her why she wanted to take piano lessons, she said because her cousin who takes piano lessons said it was fun! What a great testimonial for piano! I'm looking forward to teaching "T" and encouraging music sharing with her cousin who doesn't live in the same town. How wonderful that we have internet and social media to help bring them together.

"G" has performed for her first piano video! She has learned how to sit at the piano, what finger numbers are, quarter notes, quarter rests, whole notes, how to keep her eyes on the music while her fingers do the playing. She is progressing very well and rapidly. She has a great attitude and is such a joy to teach. Stay turned for more piano progress.

 

My First Student in Clinton, MO begins piano lessons

Cindy's Piano Studio welcomes "G" to piano lessons. This six-year-old girl is very smart and eager to learn. She is taking piano lessons because she likes to mover her fingers and likes music and creating art. I am looking forward to seeing what music art she will create for me in the coming weeks. 

One of her favorite things to do is crafts. Yeah! I love to do crafts also. I wonder what we'll do together...sides playing music at the piano? I love being a piano teacher! I get to meet such interesting and fun people and to share what I love - piano.

I'm making progress on getting Cindy's Piano Studio up and running in Clinton, MO. I've requested flyer approval at the public schools. I already have flyers at Holy Rosary Catholic School, and I need to deliver flyers to Clinton Christian Academy next week.

My interview process is ready and waiting for students and parents. I'm so ready to begin teaching again!

Cindy's Piano Studio is now ready to take students in Clinton, MO. I have a flyer ready to be posted wherever they'll let me. I may have a contact at the elementary school. I'm going to reach out to churches as well. My goal is to have ten students
this year. Let's see what happens!

Here we go again. Sigh...Cindy's Piano Studio is moving to Missouri. I had to say goodbye to "I". I really enjoyed my short time with her. Hopefully I can start teaching again in Missouri very soon. Clinton, Missouri here I come!🎵

I's First Mini Recital

This was a big week for I as she recorded her first mini recital. It's only been four months she began piano lessons and she has come so far. Very proud of her.
